Could this be the next Executive Vehicle? I have always said that the best executive vehicle would be a Porsche, and now I may be correct. Porsche will be offering a four door vehicle called the Panamera. There will be three models a rear-wheel-drive S, an all-wheel-drive 4S and the all-wheel-drive Turbo. Being a Porsche owner I could almost understand the SUV(actually I couldn’t) , but it’s hard to grasp the concept of a four door sedan. The car magazines are saying that the Panamera has the performance numbers of a real two door Porsche. According to Edmonds a 6-foot-2 person fits easily in the backseat, with plenty of legroom, headroom and space. The trunk has 15.7 cubic feet of capacity. A Mercedes S Class has 16 cubic feet. Flop the rear seatbacks forward and you get a flat load floor and 44.6 cubic feet.
I can’t help but wonder what the market is saying when Porsche builds a successful SUV and will offer a four door vehicle? My guess is that the Panamera will be a big seller.
